Over Christmas we had an amateur photographer staying with us. He took some photos of the cottages, you can see the Christmas decorations on show. These photos are better than my photos on our website so I thought I would let you see them ( copy right belongs to Philip McAleese)

View this morning as we got up at sunrise. "Red sky in the morning a sheperd's warning" would suggest there is more snow on its way.

Back to a beautiful white snow covering. Within a 10 minute walk you can go to the Kiltonga Nature Reserve and here I have photos of the greese on the ice this morning. Such a beautiful walk with the sun out as well as the snow covering, you cannot ask for more.
Once the snow goes again you have music and entertainment close to us in Belfast. The Ulster Orchestra celebrates the New Year with an ever- changing array of polkas, marches and waltzes, including the occasional surprise! 8th-9th Jan at the Waterfront Belfast tel 02890239955.
However I fancy the unique and
noisy stage show "Stomp" now a global phenomenon. A spectacle combination of exhilarating theatre, dance, comedy and percussion as 8 performers use boots, bin, brooms and everything including the kitchen sink to hammer out explosive feel-good rhythms. 19th-24th Jan

Due to public demand, Flash Harry and the Ulster Orchestra will once again bring their amazing interpretation of the music of Queen to the Odyssey Arena, 23rd Jan.

The snow looks like it has nearly gone, but some say that if a bit is still lying we are in for a bit more. As long as you are inside it is just beautiful to look out at. Come and join us when you need a holiday or just to get away from it all.

New Year's Eve had the most beautiful skyline coloured a hint of pink. Then we had a shower of hail stones followed by lovely big flakes of snow. There is nothing nicer than a white Christmas up at Whitethorn.
